LEAK!

16/9
It's been a while since the last post!! Many things have happened along the way. Most significant event being my engagement of course.

Guess what!? Engine oil leakage while riding!

No wonder before the ride it was kinda oily/slippery when I stepped near my bike. The nut was probably already loose, which eventually fell off and caused the full leakage of my engine oil after 20 minutes.

Thankful for the kind rider warning when he saw what was happening under me (Totally unaware of my situation). At least I had ample time to pull aside before any knocking sounds came from my engine.

Had to stop aside and called in for towing to fix up the problem. Oh well, 1st major problem after 1 year of riding.

Free engine oil! Anybody?!!

Got a call from my mechanic a few hours later. Screw thread was slightly damaged, new nut replaced. No big issues.

Other than this, still considering whether I should do something about the "rough" changing of gears at times. Although it doesn't give me any problems.... probably just my OCD side hahhaha!

Thinking of keeping my Suzuki DR200 even after getting a Class 2 bike. Will continue thinking about this till I decide what I really want. Just gives me more reason to fix up the small issues on this bike!

*29 September
A date to look forward to, as I enroll for my Class 2A license.

Almost a year into riding. Everything has been going well so far. Really enjoying my time, no regrets!

Still eyeing on my dream bike, the BMW R1200GS. Maybe in another 1 years time. We shall wait and see...

BMW 1200GS

Changi Coast road is one of my favourite roads to ride. Long straight roads, with some parts slightly curvy. You can always stop by Changi Village while you are there to grab a drink and chill. A place so far yet so familiar....

More to come! Videos especially!! Ride safe!

First ride with MJ + Beating the red light!

23/4
First ride out with MJ on his Yamaha R15.

Last minute met up at Queensway before moving out to our supposedly location at Punggol.

Saw someone beat the red light right in front of me. Sadly didn't capture it with my SJCAM4000.

Would have been the highlight of the day!

He's been riding for maybe only a month now? Let's all hope for the best so that we can continue riding for as long as we can!

Hoping to fulfill my touring dreams one day with him as well. Hopefully with more people!!! As many as I can find!

There you go, with his red/blue Yamaha R15. Lost our way and ended up in hougang. Grabbed a drink and moved on to Upper Thompson to meet up with his cousin.

Everything went well that night I think.. hahahaha.

There you see his cousin's BMW in the background. Lousy camera man MJ didn't get a proper angle.

We ended up at Yishun Dam. 2nd time being there.
There were a many groups of people doing different activities. Some even set up their own BBQ area with aluminium trays.

Saw a few groups of bikers too just there to chill out.

Will definitely be back with my own BBQ set! HAHAHAH!

Looking forward to have a nice chillout session with the guys soon!

25/4
Lucky me!

Guess what, got my pair of tickets to Liquimoly Exclusive movie screening!!!

Anybody else attending??

Unfortunately I am unable to make it, passed the tickets to my parents to enjoy instead!
Let's hope I win more of such events! hahahahah!

Latest update on Joel's Yamaha R15

As usual, parked his R15 in Ngee Ann Polytechnic during school hours.

After returning to his bike, realised there were some outer damage as seen above. Told me someone dropped his bike and ran off.

Do be careful guys. Although it may be difficult to find the culprits, do park your bikes in well lit areas or near areas with CCTV. Not sure how effective will CCTV be but better than none right?

Luckily it's just some minor scratches and nothing else is damaged.
To the guys who damaged this particular R15, wtf seriously....??

Take care guys!

New phase in life + Servicing schedules

20/4
Hope everyone is doing well! I am doing well.... obviously hahahah!!!

It has been a while since the last update. Been kinda busy right now with work and stuff....

Haven't been riding with Joel or other buddies recently.
Another friend, MJ just pass his TP recently. New kaki lai liao, another R15 joining us soon!
Gonna ride up with him soon! Definitely more photos/videos to come soon!

Wait for them!

Just a quick throwback when I was with Joel at Pasir Panjang.

Missing the times when we were more free to ride. More to come soon I hope!

Suzuki DR200 has been serving me well so far since I started riding it since last year in .

No problems faced so far except the gear shifting sometimes (always been there but only happens occasionally). Still coping well.
Sending it for servicing almost every month as I ride up to 1000 km/month average. At the same old workshop every time, about $18 just for an engine oil change and necessary touch-ups.
Probably an oil filter change every 2 months or so.
Oh well.... Just my own schedule of servicing. Stick to your preferred way as long as it makes you happy!

Any better ways of servicing you guys have, let me know k!

Other than the regular servicing, I'm still washing my bike regularly to keep it sparkling clean!
I feel more comfortable having a clean bike hahahaha!! Even a quick rinse and wipe down matters especially now with the unpredictable weathers.

Got caught in rain again the other day and got shot by ice bullets again! GG
Luckily it only rained in one area and I got out of it within the next 5 minutes
Do remember to bring your rain gear just in case! Nobody likes riding in the wet weather I guess.... If you like then ok lor. hahahahah!

Have fun riding guys! Half selfie for you guys.

One last video for you guys from one of my night rides (with a pillion this time round).
Getting used to riding with a pillion now. I guess with more practice it will get better and better.
So for you guys who are still afraid of having a pillion, gotta try and practice more. If not..... you will never dare to pillion your passenger? Don't know about you, but I will try hahahahhah!

Want to know more? QUICK UPDATE!!

18/3

Quick update!!

Want to know what I feel when I walk towards my bike?

Freedom and excitement no matter who you ride with. You are in your own tunnel cruising along.

You get your peace of mind and you meditate watching everything passing by you.

Let go of the clutch, roll the throttle.

Now for the fun part!!

The pump of adrenaline you get when you smoke your cigarette. When I see my DR200, I will want to ride it as hard as I can. I'm sure most of you guys feel the same hahahaha!

Nobody is going to care about the mileage it clocks as long as it is well maintained and rides like a dream.

Totally an enjoyment to ride and I believe you guys out there feel the same as me! Nothing beats a nice ride after a long day of work or whenever you are just feeling it.

It's just an exciting process; Trust me. Its more of a lifestyle; then for transport. HAHAHAA!!

Work towards your dreams, don't give up yet. There are too much possibilities to explore now. No one except you, can make you quit.

Looking forward to my riding days ahead!

Money can be earned back. Time spent cannot be earned back. No regrets!

New video up soon! Look forward to it! Keep close, keep riding!

Harley Davidson of Singapore Dark Custom Ride March 2016

11/3

My 1st time joining in the Dark Custom Ride with a few friends.
Well.... First thoughts "Suzuki DR200 can join ah? Super paiseh leh, small bike with the big bikes. Can keep up or not?"

I reached at 830pm, saw a few Harley Davidson bikes. As time gets closer towards the kickoff time at 9pm, more and more bikes came in. That's when i thought "Wa GeeGee, my bike CMI la."

I think I'm the youngest person over there with a P-plate DR200.
Really had a hard time keeping up with the Harley Davidson group, but it was a really cool experience I had. Not even close with keeping up! HAHAHA

Oh well, it all went well other than getting lost in the middle of the journey with a few more bikers. Haissss.... follow wrong people hahahah!! Ended up they decided to head home while I decided to go solo and regroup! #YOLO

Managed to regroup back at Changi Civil Service club for a few drinks and chat up before heading back home for a rest after a long day of work.

Part of the good experience came from the people over there. They were really friendly and welcomed me with open arms even though I'm new there. Some talking to me about their experiences on riding and of course how many bikes they have. (Of course got a few la!)

Really really cool rides I've seen today. More photos at Harley Davidson of Singapore's facebook page! Do check them out!

My MINI Suzuki DR200 in the foreground with the aluminium topbox if you guys can't see it! (ps too small)

Time for briefing of route. AYE (Jurong) - KJE - BKE - KPE (TPE) - Changi Civil Service club. One big round!
Spot me with my red sling bag!
I think there were about 60 riders that night!!

Line up along Leng Kee for move off!

Say Hi to Ernest! Drop by to Seasalt booth at Alexandra for some delicious Fish & Chips!!

Say Hi to Wilson!

I guess the moral of the story here is to never stop dreaming. Dream big and fight for it. Don't give up just because you are not there yet!

I may be 2 years away from achieving my Class 2 license but it's not going to stop me from riding hard like the people above!
My Suzuki DR200 will suffice for now!

If any of you guys have any rides, remember to jio me! Remember ah!~
Thanks Roger for the invite!

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! + First time into Johor Bahru!

Happy Chinese New Year! Late but better than never!!
Some updates from my riding experiences to share!

Midnight lou hei, wishing everyone Happy CNY, hope everyone huat!

28/1
Riding into Johor Bahru for the first time with Joel & Andrew (our guide for the night). What an eye opener that night! 0.0

Here we go again!
p.s Joel, please ride slower next time, it's challenging keeping up with your R15 HAHAHAH! Always making me look like a tortoise riding with you guys man...

Went in at around 1 am; guess what, still a long queue at the customs. Well... not too bad still (I think we waited probably around 20 min to get through the customs? Engines off and just pedaling through the queue by foot! Hahah!

Another thing to take note if you guys are going over the first time.
Just to take extra precautions as other motorcyclists zoom past right beside you. 1 lane = 3 motorcycle lanes hahahahaha!

Just to show you guys how we did it HAHAHA. Joel in front of me!
And remember to remove your helmets to show your face hahaha!

So we had some lok lok and ice cream before heading back to catch some sleep (still gotta work the next day!:( ).
Will definitely ride to JB soon again! TO FEAST!
Happy new year to all of you guys out there! Hope you guys had a great time connecting with people and most importantly the angpaos ;)

26/2
2nd trip to JB, this time with Melvin.

Restoran See Hai 101.
Not too bad to go to for some late night seafood! :D

Its been about 4 months of riding since I started?
Everything has been going well so far, not much complains yet. Still riding daily to and fro work and exploring Singapore in a different perspective.

Many incidents happening in Singapore such as the 2 young cyclists on Ebikes who beat the red light and crashed into an oncoming vehicle. So who is in fault this time? Or rather, who is in a more dangerous position?

It's really up to yourself to understand the roads and know how to protect yourself. Ride with good road sense please!

Handlebar! +Thoughts on riding...

15/1

At Handlebar this time round with Kate!

Decided to check the place out after dinner since we've never been there before.

Coincidentally its the 20th anniversary of Warpigs, which was celebrated at Handlebar today.

The moment you ride in and spot probably at least 100 Harley Davidson. Many cool custom rides you'll see over there.

Harley Davidson may be one of a ride and a dream for bikers, but think I'm still gonna go for my BMW in future! Who knows... I might change my mind anytime soon!

DREAMS...
Still hoping to go long distance touring with a few friends to enjoy. It's gonna be a whole new experience for me! If any of you guys wanna join just let me know! The more the merrier.

Hoping to explore all the way till Thailand maybe? Lets see...

I'm sure many of you riders out there do follow YouTube, watching tons of motorcycle videos everyday. Some of the videos are actually really inspiring, making you feel like riding every single day.

I guess it's kinda therepuetic to ride alone or even with your friends. I find it really nice to listen to music while riding, even at slow speeds during the night while it's really cooling. I can go as slow as 40-50 km/h and feel fine alone, enjoying the ride with the cool breeze.

I'm sure it's what we're all looking for after a long day of work, considering the hours we work in Singapore; to have a good way to relax.

Really love this Harley Davidson I saw. There were so many more custom motorcycles that night at Handlebar!!

Handlebar really lots of decorative pieces hanging around. Didn't manage to take a photo of the Ducati on display, but you guys will see it there!

For those of you guys who have not gone by to check Handlebar out, you should! It's just by the sea and the environment is great to chill out; maybe have a drink or two! :)

Happened to see this beautiful Triumph Cafe Racer parked here.

Here we go, a new Joby Action Camera Mount! Tested it and it was really secured on my DR200 and felt much safer to mount my SJ4000.
That's how you beat the sun while you ride during the day!

Testing out a new angle to record my video on that day. Still shaky due to my bike :( Well, It's good enough for me! hahaha

People always thought I had this camera for own protection. Well..... That wasn't the priority why I got this action camera. The reason IS because I just wanna have fun recording my own rides!! I may sound crazy, but it's true!

I ride everyday even though I can choose not to, since I actually can drive to work. I chose to ride though, at least I enjoy it.
Some people get a motorcycle for transport, FOR ME I got it mainly for my ENJOYMENT while transportation was just a secondary priority.

So to people who might think why I got my camera, there you go! Purely for enjoyment purposes! Don't judge, hahahahah!

Dangers of riding?

Many ask me if it's dangerous and why I still do it.

Everyone keeps asking why ride when i can drive, don't ask anymore hahaha! I still drive sometimes.

The answer is obvious isn't it? It's a fact that you're more vulnerable when you're on a motorcycle VS a car. It's not gonna deter me from riding though. Have to really take care of yourself on the roads. Same to you guys out there!

Skip to 1:42 for exact scene.

One good example would be in this video where you see a truck cut into my lane.

Of course I hope everything goes smoothly, and I am able to continue my journey towards my dreams!

JOIN ME FOR A RIDE!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

It's been a while guys!

I have been busy lately.... but I still ride every single day!!
So recently it has been raining non-stop, I've gotten drenched quite a few times.

Another thing... I don't like to ride even after the rain has stopped; the wet ground just makes my pants dirty and wet :( I'll rather ride at the start of the rain while the ground is still dry hahahah!

So I've been following Vaune Phan's updates on instagram/blog on her road to 1,864 corners all the way into northern most part of Thailand. Really interesting photos she has uploaded.
You guys have to check her out if you haven't! It's at vaunephan.blogspot.sg

Many of you guys may be thinking where's my videos of my rides... Well, Unfortunately my SJ4000 camera mount broke and I was unable to mount it on my DR200 to do any recording for the past few days.

Seems like the design of the SJ4000 bike mount doesn't work that well for me I guess...

I did order another type of mount from taobao, hopefully it will work. More like a strap-kind of mount. Most importantly it must be secured to my bike! I'm definitely gonna tie-down my SJ4000 camera just in case the strap mount gives way :S Hahahah!!!

On the 15th December, Tuesday, my friend jio-ed my to join him at a Harley Davidson ride from the HD Showroom to Beach Road. Sadly.... I was working that day and was unable to join in. It would have been a fun ride, right?! Maybe next time! To all Harley Davidson/Other riders, hope you guys had fun that evening!

Past two days, the weather has been kind to me. Just cloudy without rain. I just rode at 50km/h to enjoy the great weather.

What a pleasure/enjoyment!!

Will be riding with Joel soon after his exams! Hope to see his Yamaha R15 and ride together soon! It's been a while since we rode together the other night.

25/12

It's Christmas guys! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

Supposed to have a video on the Christmas lights around Singapore but didn't manage to get one!!

Sorry about that hahahaha!!! Kept you guys waiting for nothing, I apologise!!

Got a Christmas gift from R15 Joel! GPS Mount!! Thanks for the gift!!

3/1

Geylang Lorong 9. Fresh Frog Leg Porridge

No Christmas lights but here you go, first time in shorts while riding! Hahahah no proper attire, please don't learn!

Will upload more videos in future!!! Have fun guys!!

My first ride on Suzuki DR200
