Updates on gas mileage so far + Night ride!

21/11
Rode to work and got cut off my lane by a driver coming out from a carpark joining the main road. Blasted my horn and I got a "sorry" hand sign from the driver.

I know he didn't see me but should have been more careful. A good hand gesture may be too late if an accident occured.

Well, I guess near misses are very common and we just got to watch out for them.

Do be careful if you guys ride along PIE after Whitley road where the curvy stretch is. Drivers tend to swerve into your lane as they mitigate the turns at high speeds. Happens every time I'm riding along that stretch.

Cutting me is fine, just don't cut into half of my lane please.

Gas mileage.

I've been riding for the past week and got up to at least 230km. They include rides to and fro work and to other places once in a while.

Just topped my tank up to the brim with 5.75 litres (Using fuelsave 95 from Shell).

I would say I'm averaging it to around 35-40km/l. Maybe partly because I'm riding quite conservatively. Averaging speed around 70-80km/h on the expressways, ~60km/h out of expressways.

Suzuki DR200 doing pretty well so far. Living up to its expectations.

Sometimes even slower hahaha! Road hogging probably.

Night riding!

Went off to meet Joel after work for a ride. Rode to Singapore Flyer hoping to be able to get into the area beside the river, unfortunately the entrance was blocked off.

Proceeded to marina barrage instead to explore the roads.

Happened to chance upon a police van doing their rounds at a construction area.

They are not there for me hahah!

Managed to snap a few photos including Joel's Yamaha R15. A little dark still hahah.

To end the night off, rode all the way back to the west; Journey to the west.

Joel brought us to South Buona Vista road where the curvy stretch is, leading to Pasir Panjang. Go take a look and try out when you guys a

Interesting but scary if you go too fast haha. Went slow as I was afraid of skidding over there.

Stopped at McDonald's at West Coast Park to grab a vanilla cone before going back to rest. Long day..

Will upload videos in future if I do get a set of camera.

Great night to ride, cloudy and cooling. No rain most importantly!

Have fun!

Shoei GT Air!

19/11
Unfortunately, my AGV helmet visor clip broke off after accidentally dropping it :( (p.s. Superglue doesn't work at all.)

Got to leave my helmet somewhere safe in future.

Went down to the shop today and got myself a new Shoei helmet, and the new visor of cause!

Say HI to my new Shoei GT Air Helmet :))

Now I have a total of 3 helmets in my collection.

After trying the Shoei GT Air, the differences I felt was the aerodynamics which resulted in different wind resistance. Shoei+1

However the AGV K3-SV provides me with better ventilation and felt much more cooling compared to my Shoei GT Air. AGV+1

Last but not least the weight of the Shoei is definitely lighter compared to my AGV.

Appearance wise, up to you guys to decide. It appealed to me so I got it :)

Almost got a HJC RPHA 10 Lorenzo instead, but I'm gonna go for the plain look for now. Definitely something to consider.

I'll leave it to you guys to test them out on your own and do let me know how you feel about the different helmets.

Tyre change

18/11
My front tyre threading is not getting better :(

Mechanic recommended a change; after taking a second look, I feel that it should be replaced, just a matter of time.

Changing just the front tyre, back tyre was replaced not long ago.

There we go; removed the old ones!

Here comes the new tyres!

Time to hit the roads again.

I'm clocking around an average of 35 km/day. Some days going above 40 km. Gonna work out a daily average of gas mileage as I ride day to day.

So far so good!

Midnight tune with Yamaha R15

7/11
Out on a ride with bufflord Joel with his Yamaha R15!

This is how we ended the night off, with a ride in Singapore streets!

There you see his beautiful black Yamaha R15!

By the way, the Yamaha R15 engine feels much smoother compared to mine, sadly... Top speed acceleration as well..

After riding my Suzuki DR200 for a period of time, definitely feels awkward to ride a sports bike with a totally different posture.

This is when I realise how comfortable my Suzuki DR200 is to ride!

Both our bikes (sorry for the low lighting conditions)

As you can see my high beam signal is on, just found out my low beam is spoilt this afternoon :(

Had to use the high beam temporarily till I get it fixed first thing tomorrow.

Great cooling night to enjoy a ride in the hot humid weather of Singapore.

Who says Singapore's weather is too hot to ride in? Hahahah

Tail lamp down...

3/11

Check out the huge garage!

Here at the garage near my workplace, just 1 minute walk across the road!

No big issue, just the tail lamp giving me some problems. Noticed last night that it wasn't lit while my bike is running.

Had to get it fixed just to make sure people see me while I ride at night (which I do everyday). At least it's cheap!

Most may shrug it off as if nothing happened, but definitely not me since I have seen cars/bikes without proper lighting before (How freaking difficult it is to spot them in the night especially in the expressways).

Hope you fellow riders reading this, ride safe! :)

My first ride on Suzuki DR200

17/10 The day I get my new ride! (Thanks Kate for the sweet ride!) An exciting moment to try out the DR200. This is it, the feel ...
