WIN!!! LIQUIMOLY Singapore "Caption This" Contest (RE-POST)

RE-POST

Say HI to LIQUIMOLY!

2nd win so far! This time round with LIQUIMOLY. A big thank you to the LIQUIMOLY Team for hosting the "Caption This" contest!

Prizes includes Liquimoly Additive Set (4T Bike Additive, Oil Additive & Engine Flush) and Baseball cap autographed by Sandro Cortese and Jonas Folger of the Moto2 Dynavolt Intact GP team!

Anyway... It's time for a seat revamp!

Finally decided to change a whole new seat cushion and cover to provide better comfort for my long riding hours. The stock DR200 seat is just too rigid and really gives my butt an ache even just after a short ride.

So... where to get them changed?

Decided to check out Juzz Wheelzz since they are just opposite me (3minutes away from me)

How about some white reflective rim tapes? hahaha! Got them done as well; why not? For easier detection by cars at night, or just for fun? hahahah both la, more for fun though! :>

Look at the bare body frame after removing the seat. Rags and bones. How about the dust that has been collecting on it after so many years! Covered up with seat cannot see already! HAHA

After a good wash and scrub.
New seat new life! Looking good so far! Rim tapes not as obvious now, but it shows amazingly well when light reflects off my wheelzz at night!

Sooo much more comfortable, even after an hours ride, I feel fine!

At least it means my money was well spent. Job well done!

Saw some cool motorcycles around. Always snapping some photos wherever I go. So far what really interests me are cafe racers and tourers.

Some cool bikes sighted! My favourite is the white Yamaha!

Aiyooo.. why must park like this?

Not just for a short while, you actually parked there for 2 straight days! Seriously, what were you thinking!?? If I can clamp your vehicle, I would be more then happy to.

Guys, please do not do this ok? Let's be considerate to our neighbours and be nice! It will go a long way.

Traffice police test for Class 2A! Success!!!

It's been over a year since I started riding. Time really flies. My Suzuki DR200 has been so reliable (except for certain times...) so far. Getting me to my destinations safely and comfortably.

Looking around for some Class 2A motorcycles, however they seem kinda pricey for a motorcycle which I'm only planning to ride for a year.

The ONLY reason* I would consider a Class 2A motorcycle is for me to adapt to the larger engine of the motorcycle for smoother transition to Class 2 motorcycles.
(*Not a good enough reason for me to go get a new motorcycle yet; unless there's a really cheap and good buy)

Current plan is to keep my DR200 first till I get my Class 2 license. Maybe I might even keep it after getting my Class 2 license, who knows?

Dirt Biking at Tristan Park

Glad to be finally back after a 4 year hiatus! I almost gave up on this blog until now. Decided to come back with a bang!

Started off as a 2 biker group but I have 8 bikers with me now! Even a better time for me to revive this! Shout-out to my group:

Gin (Phantom), Chee (Dominar), Nicole (KTM Duke), Kiat How (BMW Rnine T Scrambler), Bryant (NC750X), Joel (MT-03)

Nothing shall limit us

I'll update more on my current ride on a separate dedicated post. Did I get my dream bike already? Keep your eyes peeled for my next post.

16th February

Decided to have our virgin experience with dirt biking @ Tristan Park in Johor Bahru.

We pushed off @ 7 AM, then headed for some Dim Sum to fuel up for the day. Reached Tristan Park Centre by 930 AM, not easy to find them as there were no signs. We still managed to find it after asking around, and we headed in to get geared up before pushing off to the trail for some action!

Grateful for this bunch of bike enthusiasts!

Please support and check out our video below! Recorded with a variety of action cameras including GoPro Hero 7 black, Dragontouch etc..

Gin, I know you tall but please tilt your camera higher next time ah.

Looks good right?! Video credits to Joyce!

We arranged a fleet of Kawasaki KLX 150s. Definitely not well maintained, but still does it's job I guess.. I will think twice before I rent that in future. Their Honda CRFs are definitely what you should select if your budget allows (at least 50x better?).

It was a thrilling experience even on our small 150cc bikes. The terrain gives you so much excitement and you just want to try out everything that you can't do on regular roads. No regrets going for this trip!

My fiancee is a non-rider, she did manage to pick up some skills and managed to ride a little still. HOWEVER IMO, I highly DISCOURAGE adult non-riders to go past the initial practice trail further into the actual dirt biking trail. They may look fine but I can imagine a beginner panicking and losing control of the bike and just crash; "Crash Landing On You" dirt bike version.

It was definitely as easy as it sounds, even going for the Plentong Trail.

Thumbs up to their instructors for still doing their best to help teach and guide the non-riders.

Pesonally, I wouldn't mind revisiting Tristan Park for dirt biking adventures; however if you are planning some serious dirt biking, I would encourage you guys to get your own gear because their gears are dirty and poorly maintained in my opinion. I cannot emphasize any further on safety especially for high risk activities. Please wear full gear for dirt biking hor.

One more thing, the toilet/showering facilities are super basic. If you all are not bothered by it, then go ahead...

Anyway, that was just the fun part; what's fun without some hardcore actions/stunts? We all know certain action leads to severe consequences...

Almost, but luckily our video didn't end up as a tribute video. I'm glad everyone made it back safely!

I highly recommend to purchase your own travel insurance/personal accident plans even if you are there for a day trip. Very important if you are involved in an accident and need medical help in a foreign land. Take note you will need to contact your insurance hotline/International SOS if you want to arrange a medical evacuation even from JB to SG hospital. You confirm chop frustrated by the workflow/professionalism of their hospital there.

Unfortunately.... Singapore sounds so near yet so far from Malaysia; we are still in foreign land in JB. Nothing is better than Home..

*Please do not contact me to purchase insurance, I do not sell any insurance. If you really need recommendation then you ask me.

LEAK!

16/9
It's been a while since the last post!! Many things have happened along the way. Most significant event being my engagement of course.

Guess what!? Engine oil leakage while riding!

No wonder before the ride it was kinda oily/slippery when I stepped near my bike. The nut was probably already loose, which eventually fell off and caused the full leakage of my engine oil after 20 minutes.

Thankful for the kind rider warning when he saw what was happening under me (Totally unaware of my situation). At least I had ample time to pull aside before any knocking sounds came from my engine.

Had to stop aside and called in for towing to fix up the problem. Oh well, 1st major problem after 1 year of riding.

Free engine oil! Anybody?!!

Got a call from my mechanic a few hours later. Screw thread was slightly damaged, new nut replaced. No big issues.

Other than this, still considering whether I should do something about the "rough" changing of gears at times. Although it doesn't give me any problems.... probably just my OCD side hahhaha!

Thinking of keeping my Suzuki DR200 even after getting a Class 2 bike. Will continue thinking about this till I decide what I really want. Just gives me more reason to fix up the small issues on this bike!

*29 September
A date to look forward to, as I enroll for my Class 2A license.

Almost a year into riding. Everything has been going well so far. Really enjoying my time, no regrets!

Still eyeing on my dream bike, the BMW R1200GS. Maybe in another 1 years time. We shall wait and see...

BMW 1200GS

Changi Coast road is one of my favourite roads to ride. Long straight roads, with some parts slightly curvy. You can always stop by Changi Village while you are there to grab a drink and chill. A place so far yet so familiar....

More to come! Videos especially!! Ride safe!

My first ride on Suzuki DR200

17/10 The day I get my new ride! (Thanks Kate for the sweet ride!) An exciting moment to try out the DR200. This is it, the feel ...
